Possibly the Worst Senator in Office Hands Down. Just a Despicable Human Being
He is quoted from a speech at the Heritage Foundation, in part: “My focus for the next 61 days is very directly targeted to one thing, and that is working to defund Obamacare. This is the best opportunity we have to defund Obamacare and quite possibly our last opportunity to effectively defund Obamacare.”
That approach has put the TEA "party" at odds with GOP leaders who are just as eager to repeal Obamacare, but far more worried about backlash if a fight over temporarily cutting off its funding leads to a government shutdown. Some analysts see a civil war brewing over the dispute. And Cruz is not without allies.
From August 19 to 29, he will barnstorm the country with former Senator Jim "Crazy" DeMint, the TEA "party" patron and now President of the Heritage Foundation. Their “Defund Obamacare Tour” will include a town hall-style event in Dallas on August 20, 2013.
In Congress, the plan from Cruz and his allies is to attach a provision to the continuing resolution that would bar spending to implement any provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), widely known as Obamacare. Apparently, and according to other news sources, Senators Rand Paul (KY) and Mike Lee (UT) have indicated they will sign on. God only knows what other nitwits of that same ilk will join this train with Cruz at the wheel barrelling down the track to the cliff at the end of the line.
I honestly wonder why are people like Cruz are in office in the first place - obviously they are up to no good.
